Morts A near-faultless album that takes us back to yesteryear and the days of big hair, big egos and loud sleaze & glam to work out those neck muscles! More attitude and grit than most of the old mainstream poodle rock bands, Pump play more akin to Skid Row, WASP or the Crüe, with a little dirt to roughen up the polish.
Unfortunately the one blemish here is All I Could Bleed - an obligatory ballad with lyrics so awful that Bret Michaels would be jealous (yes, THAT bad)...

Nach „Against Everyone’s Advice“ (2004) und „Breakdown To Breakthrough“ (2006) legen PUMP aus dem Stuttgarter Raum mit „Sonic Extasy“ nun ihren dritten Longplayer vor.
In bester Tradition von 80er Jahre Bands wie Dokken, Skid Row oder Tesla rocken PUMP seit 2001, was Ihnen neben einer ordentlichen Fangemeinde und jeder Menge Medien-Aufmerksamkeit auch persönliche Einladungen als Toursupport von Axel Rudi Pell (Tour 2005) und Queensryche (Tour 2004) eingebracht hat.

Überhaupt haben PUMP wohl bereits sämtliche europäischen Clubs bei Shows oder Festivals bespielt, u.a. mit Shakra, U.D.O., Saidian, UFO und Vengeance, denn die Bühne ist bekanntlich das Wohnzimmer jeder ambitionierten Rockband.
Auf ihrem neuen Album „Sonic Extasy“ schlagen PUMP nun etwas rauhere Töne an, was nicht zuletzt auch auf den Einfluss der neuen Bandmitglieder Andy Minnich (Drums) und Micha Vetter (Bass) zurückzuführen ist, doch verliert der Schwaben-Fünfer zu keiner Zeit den bandtypischen Sound aus den Augen. Frontmann Marcus Jürgens singt wie gewöhnlich alles an die Wand, während das Gitarristen-Duo Aki Reissmann und Stef Bertolla den Songs die PUMPenden Melodien und Riffs verpassen.

Bereits jetzt hat sich ein heimlicher Hit unter den 12 Titeln von „Sonic Extasy“ hervorgetan: Das treibende „Low Life In The Fast Lane“.
Natürlich kann man PUMP auch rund um den Release von „Sonic Extasy“ wieder live erleben: U.a. beim H.E.A.T. Festival am 27.09. in der Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg, beim Air Axes Metal Festival am 10.10. in der Sandäckerhalle Steinenbronn oder auf Deutschland-Tour mit den Rocklegenden UFO von 16.-29.11.2009.
