about

The much-awaited followup album to Virtual Perish's 2022 release, "Under the Influence", has finally surfaced. While not a continuation of the theme of imitation, there are very clear influences of many popular contemporary bands on these tracks.

The new album, Virtual Errors, is a 6-song EP, in an effort to stand out from the large number of tracks from their previous album. However, don't expect a mere 6 tracks to feel underwhelming - this album brings 6 entirely different styles of music with each track. The album name stems from the idea that each song is like an "error" or a "glitch" (further illustrated through the heavy use of synths throughout each track), and each song talks about some of mankind's darkest insecurities.

Aurelio showcases his vocal growth, giving us his full vocal range in the thunderous first track, Confession. The mood slows down a bit with the industrial metal sound of Fear and Loathing before going full aggrotech in Leprosy of the Soul as Aurelio makes full use of synths and vocoder effects. Penumbra_Child makes a return to vocals again in The Enigma, a song that features all 3 members on voice in different parts. In a bit of a return to nu metal form from the last album, Devout crushes us with a very strong early 90s raw nu metal sound before it became mainstream, in which Edgecase once again showcases his terror inducing screams just as well as his powerful clean singing. The album ends on the most epic ending track, Day of Horus, filled with bombastic orchestral and choral flourishes.

You can rest assured that there will be something that appeals to you in this album no matter what end of the heavy music spectrum you're on. Two singles from the album, Confession and The Enigma, are already available on all streaming platforms.
